Hi, I’m Helen Hanison, a leadership coach. I specialise in helping people feeling stuck in a cycle of solving their career problem. Together, we co-create a fresh plan they’re excited to act on because it realigns work they love with what matters most!
My Story
“We've bought you - mind, body, soul”
Those are the words that came out of my boss’ mouth shortly after I joined a firm I had enjoyed consulting for. After I had my first child, I moved away from being a Director for one global public relations firm and responded to a very flattering pursuit to join a smaller firm. For me, joining them was very intentional. I openly traded my experience and skillset for a three-day week, doing a lesser role to protect time for what mattered most – mothering. It all came tumbling down when I heard those words.
Hearing those words triggered absolute clarity for me about what makes life feel purposeful and how different that was from chasing hits of happiness in this career, which felt out of date for me-even if it made me lots of money.
So eventually, after what I now think of as my “lost years,” I started figuring out how to realign what I do with what matters most. I found coaching thanks to a wise psychology professor at the University of Sussex, and it set me on the trail of discovery until I had enough clarity to make a decision and get into action! My post-grad year was spent completing a (rigorous!) training programme with the world’s largest coach training institute, which was transformative for me.
